This hand distressed pair of men’s knickers was worn by the character Zeke played by an uncredited actor in the 1959 musical adaptation of the popular Al Capp comic strip “Lil’ Abner” starring Peter Palmer and Leslie Parrish. The light brown wool knickers with hand sewn patches, matching suspenders and small attached muslin pouch were custom made for use in the production and are in good screen worn condition as seen in the film. The garment is complete with the original Paramount Pictures costumer’s label sewn inside with the name “Mulroney” handwritten in slightly faded ink. The garment was worn prominently in several scenes from the film, including when the Dogpatch denizens give Zeke (Mulroney) over to the Governement, along with five other male citizens, for testing of Mammy Yokum’s Yokumberry Tonic in an attempt to save Dogpatch from becoming an atomic testing ground. This garment is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house. Presented by The Golden Closet, your premiere source for screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
