This outfit was worn by the character “Joe Volpi” portrayed by actor Alan Arkin in Sydney Pollack’s 1990 motion picture epic “Havana” starring Robert Redford and Lena Olin. The outfit consists of a blue long sleeve dress shirt by “Carroll and Company” with a black coat and black pants.

Mr. Arkin wore these garments in several scenes of the film and most notably when at his casino; he hosts a private poker game with Jack Weil (Redford) playing up against Cuban dignitaries.

Sydney Pollack directed “Havana” with his brother Bernie Pollack designing the costumes. Bernie had to outfit 2,000 extras and needed nearly 10,000 costumes for frequent changes during the film. The old town of Havana was recreated in the Dominican Republic with the main set measuring nearly a quarter of a mile long, taking 20 weeks to create. These garments are in very good screen worn condition and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
