This umbrella and hat was used by the character "Peppy Miller," portrayed by actress Berenice Nejo, in the 2011 French film, "The Artist." The period umbrella is a lined with camisole while the vintage hat is constructed of cotton with floral print.

Ms. Bejo can be seen wearing the hat when Peppy goes to the movies to watch “Tears of Love,” starring George Valentin (Jean Dujardin). She can then be seen in the following scene when she goes to see Valentin at his home. "The Artist," takes place in Hollywood, between 1927 and 1932, and focuses on the relationship of an older silent film star and a rising young actress, as silent cinema falls out of fashion and is replaced by the "talkies". It received near-universal acclaim from critics and won many accolades, including five Academy Awards, one of which was for Best Achievement in Costume Design.
