This costume was worn by the character “Cherie Currie” portrayed by actress Dakota Fanning in the 2010 motion picture “The Runaways”. The outfit consists of a black velveteen halter vest, black panties, socks and platform boots. The original costumer’s hold tags are attached listing character name “Cherie”, actress name “Dakota Fanning”, and assorted scene and production notes. The boots were also worn by the character “Joan Jett” portrayed by actress Kristen Stewart the interior of the boots have “Kristen” written in black marker on tape.
Cherie wore this outfit in the scene where a Japanese magazine comes to her house to photograph her for the cover. Joan Jett also wore the boots briefly onscreen in a separate scene. “The Runaways” was based on the true story of the groundbreaking all-girl rock group produced by Kim Fowley in the 1970’s, whose members included Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, and Cherie Curry. The film also starred Kristen Stewart of “Twilight” fame in the role of Joan Jett. The film was nominated for an MTV Award and Dakota Fanning received a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie Actress (Drama) for her performance in the film.
