These garments were worn by “Dwayne Schneider” as portrayed by actor Pat Harrington Jr. in the television series “One Day At A Time”. The custom-made denim vest with leather bias inserts has three pockets, three button front closure and internal “The Wardrobe Wing” “36” handwritten in black ink. Accompanied with a pair of cotton mint green boxer shorts with red and green rose print. T-shirt for display purposes only.

Throughout the entire series, Mr. Harrington can be seen wearing a version of this denim vest. Instantly recognizable and is Schneider’s signature look. Custom made by designer, Betsey Potter, the “Dwayne Scheider” vest took on several variations throughout the nine season run of the series. This style vest was worn by “Dwayne Schneider” in seasons 2-5. Most prominently featured throughout the episode "Schneider Loves Ginny" when “Schneider” is reminiscing about his dating relationship with “Ginny” (Mary Louise Wilson) and plans his proposal. During Season 3 Episode 5 "Ann's Out-of-Town Client", “Schneider” wears the vest and rose print boxer short combination when he asks “Julie” (Mackenzie Phillips) to mend a rip in his pants and he waits in the kitchen wearing this pair of flamboyant boxer shorts.

One Day At A Time was an American sitcom developed by Norman Lear broadcasted by CBS from 1975 through 1984. Like so many of Mr. Lear’s productions the series show cased a single working class mother raising her two daughters. Lear including. The show was nominated for 13 Emmy awards, and actress Isabel Sanford who played Louise, won Best Actress in 1981. This item is in good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Costume Designer.

This garment is in good screen worn condition and was acquired directly from the costume designer and head of the wardrobe department for Embassy TV (formerly TAT/Tandem) Betsey Potter.  The department also supplied wardrobe to Sanford and Son, One Day At A Time, Maude, All in the Family, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and other iconic television shows produced by Norman Lear and Embassy TV.
