“Material Girl” music video was inspired by Madonna’s admiration of Marilyn Monroe and she mimicked Monroe’s performance of the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”. The video has the storyline of a man who impresses Madonna with daisies, rather than diamonds.
