This western shirt was worn by the character "Joe Maybe," portrayed by legendary war hero turned actor Audie Murphy, in the 1958 Western, "Ride A Crooked Trail." The green and red long sleeve cowboy shirt comes complete with the original Costume Rentals Corporation costumer's tag with the name "Audie Murphy" clearly typed.
Mr. Murphy wore the shirt in several scenes throughout the film. "Ride A Crooked Trail" also starred Walter Matthau and Henry Silva. In the film, the famed war veteran turned actor portrays a bank robber impersonating a US Marshal in hopes of robbing the local town bank. Mr. Murphy was nominated for Top Action Performance at the 1959 Laurel Awards for his work on the film.
