This toilet paper stand was used in the 1995 motion picture “Get Shorty” starring John Travolta, Rene Russo, Gene Hackman, and Danny DeVito. The brass toilet paper stand with circular base was used onscreen in the scene where Florida mobster “Ray ‘Bones’ Barboni” (Dennis Farina) sits in his bathroom reading “Weird Tales: Stories My Cousin Told Me”, the book written by “Martin Weir” (Danny DeVito’s character). Barboni is interrupted by a phone call in the other room and curses before getting up to receive an anonymous phone call from Hollywood producer “Harry Zimm” (Gene Hackman). Zimm informs Barboni that he needs to come out to California to meet with the producer and also to confront his nemesis “Chili Palmer” (played by John Travolta).

“Get Shorty” received a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical in 1996 to John Travolta. The film also received two nominations for Best Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical and Best Screenplay, and its popularity spawned the sequel “Be Cool” which was released in 2005.

The stand is in good screen used condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
