JITTERBUGS Oliver Hardy wool knickers Item # C0144
SOLD
JULIEN'S LIVE AUCTION JUNE 26 - 27
This pair of black and white basket weave patterned wool knickers with ankle buckles were worn by comedian Oliver "Babe" Hardy in the 1943 Laurel & Hardy comedy team classic “Jitterbugs”. The knickers are complete with the original 20th Century Fox Tag with "Job A-399, Date 3-2-43, Name O. Hardy, Inv. 3-69-1 1065" clearly typed in black ink.
Mr. Hardy wore the pants near the beginning of the film as he and Stan's two-man Zoot Suit Band, the front for a traveling "gasoline-pill" scam, wow the crowd at a small town carnival, and then flee as the crowd gets wind of their con act. The garment is in excellent vintage screen worn condition and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
Presented by The Golden Closet, your premiere source for screen used wardrobe, props, and music entertainment memorabilia.
