This United States military helmet was worn by the character Pvt. Benjamin Buford “Bubba” Blue portrayed by actor Mykelti Williamson in the 1994 motion picture “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks and Gary Sinise. Mr. Williamson wore the helmet in numerous scenes of the film when he and Forrest (Hanks) are stationed in Vietnam, and appeared notably in the pivotal sequence where Bubba is fatally wounded in a firefight despite Forrest’s heroic effort to save him and several other fellow soldiers.

The helmet cover seen here in scenes from the film was rented from a motion picture costume house and is not included in the sale. The cover was separated from the helmet and returned back into stock for possible future rentals after work on the production had ended, a standard industry practice especially in the realm of military wardrobe and props which are often used repeatedly in multiple productions by both principle and background characters. The screen used helmet is in good condition with minor distress from the numerous “Vietnam” scenes it was worn in by the actor and is complete with the original chinstrap and interior webbing used during filming. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity.
