Brig Gen. Dreedle (Orson Welles)
Item # A0028
This khaki US Army Air Corps shirt was worn by the character Brig. Gen. Dreedle portrayed by the Academy Award winning actor Orson Welles, in the 1970 motion picture CATCH 22, starring Anthony Perkins, Bob Newhart, Buck Henry, Jon Voight, and Alan Arkin.
The long sleeve khaki military shirt was custom made for Mr. Welles and has the original Machin Tailor label sewn in the collar, which includes a misprint of his first and last name, reading “Tailored Especially For Orsen Wells.” The Army Air Corps patch is also sewn onto the left shoulder of the garment.
Mr. Welles can be seen wearing the shirt under his uniform jacket and over coat throughout the film. This garment is in very good screen worn condition and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the costume company.
