Education: Bachelor of Arts (Theatre/Costume Design), Grinnell College
Background: Background: Sierra graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Costume Design, which led her to a number of distinguished jobs. She was the resident costume designer at a San Francisco theatre, a corsetiere, a custom drapery maker, and is now a successful motion picture costumer. Sierra is also the web editor for the internationally circulated Inside GNSS magazine and was previously a contract auditor for CNET Networks.
Sierra found her way to The Golden Closet in 2007. A devoted fan of vintage Hollywood films and wardrobe since childhood, she was an asset from the start! Sierra’s background as both a theatrical and as a professional motion picture and television costumer has proven to be a great resource here at The Golden Closet. Her knowledge of costume construction, textiles, fabrics, and industry practices has given her the invaluable tools to be an expert in the documentation of historic costumes and props.

Education: Associate of Arts, Orange Coast College. BFA Communication Design, Otis School of Art and Design.
Background: Allen Brokate started working for The Golden Closet in 1999, after previously gaining experience with the motion picture costuming industry while briefly working for Eastern Costume Company. His time at The Golden Closet has only served to increase his admiration for the artistry involved in creating film and television productions.
Because of his artistic background in graphic design and illustration, his eye for detail has proven to be a powerful asset in the fields of research and documentation. His extensive knowledge of classic to contemporary cinema, music, and his natural writing ability provide The Golden Closet with invaluable tools for professionally documenting and marketing entertainment memorabilia items to the global collecting community.
Apart from his duties with the company, Mr. Brokate does freelance Illustration/Graphic Design for a wide variety of clients. His articles and reviews have appeared in several print and online publications and he also plays and records music in his spare time. He currently resides in Portland, Oregon and operates an artist studio / retail space with his wife.

Background: Kimberly Amo Brokate has provided freelance graphic / web design services to The Golden Closet since 2006. Kim’s background in fashion design has proven to be an asset when creating our advertisements and featured web art. Through Kim’s creativity and knowledge of costumes The Golden Closet is able to showcase our memorabilia in a classic and artistic manner. In addition to her work for the company, Mrs. Brokate is an experienced fashion designer that also provides freelance graphic and web design services to a wide variety of clients. She resides in Portland, Oregon and operates an artist studio / retail space with her husband and is currently working on developing a clothing line and is writing a book of original crochet designs.
